By identifying one great pick for each shopping need, Amazon's Choice reduces choice overload and increases purchase confidence for customers. Amazon's Choice is hiring a Sr. Technical Program Manager to develop a broad set of product discovery initiatives that will introduce a fundamental step change in the Amazon's Choice program and technology that will drastically simplify product discovery for customers while accelerating Amazon's flywheel WW. These innovations will require deep science/ML innovation, and coordinated delivery across multiple teams. Success will require strong technical leadership, problem solving, and influencing skills with visibility up to VP/SVP levels. In this role, you will lead ambitious projects that cross multiple teams and technologies. You will work with partners to define service boundaries, resourcing needs, and schedules. You will assess technical risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance the customer needs versus technical constraints, and encourage risk taking behavior to maximize business benefit. Basic Qualifications: • 5+ years of technical program management experience • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules Preferred Qualifications: B.A. in computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience Experience building and launching ML-based solutions to complex customer problems Experience in on-time and on-budget delivery of large complex software or hardware projects Experience building online distributed systems and platform infrastructure (design and implementation) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to operate and thrive with partial information and ambiguity Excellent time management, resource management and planning skills Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
